GRANT RESPONSIBILITIES

The Arapahoe Acres Historic Preservation Network and Historic Denver are responsible for:

>> All the "Mini-Grant" projects conform to the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.

>> "Mini-Grant" program, individual homeowners will be awarded grant funds of a max of $3,000 or 60% of their project cost, whichever is less. Each participating homeowner pays min. of 40% of their project cost.

>> homeowners benefiting from the $35,000 in "Mini-Grant" funds must provide a total of $21,000 in matching funds.

>> Historic Preservation Network will document the grant program to serve as a model for other historic residential communities.

>> Historic Preservation Network will inform the historic preservation community and the public at large about the grant program through tours, presentations, website, and by offering the "Stylebook" for sale.

 

Project Schedule
At the end of 1999, the State Historical Fund disbursed $13,350 to Historic Denver, which is holding the project funds in escrow awaiting requisitions for approved work. A single invoice for $75 has been submitted to reserve the domain name of "ArapahoeAcres.org" for the website. The State Historical Fund set dates at which the Network must provide reports or documents reflecting progress of the grant program. The Arapahoe Acres Historic Preservation Network and Historic Denver are responsible for setting the schedule balance so the Network can meet official reporting dates:

February 16, 2000
Submit a progress report to the Fund showing the work completed to date. This will include this grant information package, along with information on the website and how far the Network has proceeded with photo-documenting home exteriors for use on the website and in the book "Arapahoe Acres Style."

 

August 16, 2000
Submit a progress report which will include a draft copy of the book "Arapahoe Acres Style," along with a list of grants which have been awarded for neighborhood preservation projects. An interim financial report will also be submitted on this date so that the Network can draw additional funds of $17,800.

September 16, 2000

Submit a project budget and a scope of the work for the second year of the grant program.

February 16, 2001

Submit a progress report. An interim financial report will also be submitted on this date so that the Network can draw additional funds of $13,350.

August 16, 2001
Submit a progress report.
September 16, 2001
Submit a final project report, a final copy of the book "Arapahoe Acres Style" and a final financial report that will allow us to draw $14,000 in grant funds.
